Edwin Van der Sar is the Dutch former footballer that born 29 October 1970. His began his career as a goalkeeper at his hometown club, Foreholte, and then w Noordwijk. He bought attention of Louis van Gaal and signed for AFC Ajax from 1990 till 1999.
He drew attention from Manchester United after the departure of Peter Schmeichel, but he moved to Italian club Juventus from 1999 until 2001.
Then he signed with Fulham 2001-2005. His performances with Fulham after defeat to Manchester United got attention from Alex Ferguson.
Van Der Sar signed for Manchester United on 10 June 2005. His the best goalkeeper to have played for Manchester United since Peter Schmeichel.
On 28 May 2011, Van der Sar retired from active football. Ajax awarded him a testimonial, which took place on 3 August 2011.Three match were played, starting with under-13s (Ajax 2-2 Man United) then followed (VAS Ajax Team 1-0 Netherlands Team) and a ("Dream Team" selected by Van der Sar won 2-1 with Ajax).
